TEAM
EXPANSION
The Principles of TEAM Expansion.
Combining the best of science and personal development.
1. Communication Skills (DISC)
I believe once people are given the language, they can teach others how to best treat them. When was the last time you told someone how you like to be treated? Understanding this about yourself leads to increased team communication and leadership. DISC assessments provide a common language for your team to understand their preferred communication skills and those of their co-workers. Equipping your team with this deeper understanding and common language leads to increased successful communication.
ASK:
When was the last time you told someone how you like to be treated?
2. Motivators
I believe when you’re operating from a place where you are being rewarded for what you are naturally driven by, you are operating from a place of self-motivation. When you have a developed understanding of your motivators, you’re able to create an environment that self-motivation–an environment where you’re propelling versus being pulled. When you understand what drives others, understanding and appreciation happens leading to better business results.
ASK:
What is your “Why”? What sets your heart on fire? What was the last time you felt that?
I believe when emotional awareness dances with decision-making, magic happens. It’s the culmination of the rest of the work a leader does on themselves and it’s the most critical; the foundational piece.
ASK:
When was the last time you were surprised (or how often are you surprised) by your reaction to feedback you received as a leader? When has your EQ been tested? When were you last humbled by feedback you received as a leader?
4. Decision Making Clarity
I believe the awareness of people skills, practical thinking and systems judgement in conjunction with an awareness of strengths and blind spots allows teams to organize themselves to succeed.
ASK:
How are you managing your blind spots?
5. Self-Awareness
“Self-awareness is the breakfast of champions.” -Bill Bonnstetter
I believe when people understand themselves more they are gentler with themselves. This allows them to get out of their own way. It leads to less self-absorption which opens up the mind, space and energy to focus completely on results and the business at hand. From this, results happen! It’s just good business.
ASK:
What is your awareness level of how your actions impact others? How does that translate into how you treat others?
